Sparkol VideoScribe: Free 7 day trial

Sparkol VideoScribe allows students to create a video presentation using images and audio. It is similar to Prezi in that it enables students to use a canvas style dashboard and hop to various locations in order to display information. However, Sparkol is different because it allows you to animate words and images.

My son recently can home and announced, “I have to do a project on Ancient Roman Technology” with almost excruciating pain. I replied, “Why don’t you do your research and then use Sparkol?”. He had a look at the software and was then very keen to start his project. Although the program is a bit fiddly in terms of time settings for audio, he was impressed with the end result. Below is the Sparkol VideoScribe that he created (age 12). Please note, he also manged to include MineCraft in his presentation.

VideoScribe HD is also available on iPad but it costs $5.49.
