The Electric Company: Video resources and a great iPad app

The Electric Company by PBS Kids have some fantastic online resources and  a really cool app to explore. I have used their ‘Captain Cluck Quotation Marks’ video for several years.

In addition, I have recently discovered their free app called Lost on Prankster Planet which allows up to 4 players.

Players take it in turn to spin the wheel and then they are given a challenge to complete. Some of the challenges included:

-Scrunch up a piece of paper, stand in a circle and throw it to each other counting by 5’s, when you finish stop the clock
– Pretend to play an instrument, keep doing it until your team guesses
– Find an object in the room that is the shape of a triangle, don’t tell your team members. They need to guess what you have chosen but can only ask yes or no questions.

Players move forward as a team until they reach their final destination. This is an app which builds team spirit and get players up out of their seats! I played it with my two children (6 & 11) and my husband, we had a great time.
