Ideas for teaching with Google Earth

Google Earth is a free  a geobrowser that accesses satellite and aerial imagery, ocean bathymetry, and other geographic data over the internet to represent the Earth as a three-dimensional globe. You can also visit the Google Earth Official YouTube Channel for videos on updated versions of Google Earth, recent uploads, popular uploads and many more.

You can get Google Earth for free for iPad and  free for Android. For free teaching ideas visit the Google Earth Blog and select a category (ie weather, sky, earth news). There are some great links/resources on Pedagogy in Action. I particularly recommend the Google Earth Tip Sheet that can be downloaded and Examples of Google Earth Activities.
