Global Worlds: English for global education

CaptureThe Global Worlds website is free to use and it provides twelve units of work. The units have been produced by World Vision Australia and the Primary English Teaching Association Australia (PETAA) to integrate the teaching and learning of English and global citizenship education.

“At the centre of both global citizenship education and the study of English is the aim of supporting students to become ethical, thoughtful and informed citizens, predisposed to take action for change. These units, and the supporting resources of Global Words, aim to build the essential knowledge, skills and values young people need to participate actively, critically and creatively as global citizens” ( http://www.globalwords.edu.au/ ).

The units are subdivided into three categories; Junior Primary, Upper Primary and Junior Secondary. The site even provides supporting resources and student work samples!

  1. The units on this site are fantastic. They are well-written and the resources are not difficult to find. I have just started the Global Footprints: Sustainability unit with my class and they love it. Have a look and give one a try!
