My year 7 students have been learning programming skills using a program called Turtle Art. I’ve previously blogged about it, here is the LINK. As a refresher, by snapping blocks together, students have been exploring coding, art, geometry, and maths. The program allows students to learn how to detect patterns, understand the repetition of instructions, and the importance of understanding and following instructions. One of their final challenges was to code an original piece of art, or create a remix of a piece of art. Below are some of their work samples:
